Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Exceptional opportunity for an experienced Surgical Technologist specializing in orthopedics, robotics, and neuro surgery. This contract position is based in Chugiak, Alaska, offering a dynamic clinical environment within a renowned acute care facility. Candidates with a background in total joint orthopedic cases, DaVinci robotic procedures, and neuro surgeries including craniotomies and spinal operations will find this role especially rewarding.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in surgical technology with a focus on orthopedics, neuro, robotics, and trauma
  • Certification in BLS required; NCCT or NBSTSA preferred
  • Experience in total joint orthopedic cases and neuro procedures (craniotomy, spinal surgery)
  • Proficiency with DaVinci robotic surgery systems
  • Ability to work assigned shifts without on-call or weekend requirements
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify as travelers

Location:Located in Chugiak, the facility is part of a highly regarded acute hospital known for its designation as a Magnet facility and a Level II Trauma center. Serving diverse patient needs including oncology, bariatrics, pediatrics, and trauma cases involving complex orthopedic and neuro injuries, it offers a robust clinical experience. Chugiak provides a scenic Alaskan setting with access to outdoor recreational activities and a close-knit community atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist during orthopedic, neuro, and robotic surgical procedures
  • Ensure sterile field maintenance and adherence to OR protocols
  • Collaborate effectively with surgical teams to deliver safe patient care
  • Utilize Epic for charting and documentation

Shift Details:

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:45 AM to 7:15 PM)
  • Guaranteed 60 hours per two weeks
  • No weekend or on-call shifts required

Additional Information:

  • Parking is free for staff
  • Time off requests accommodated on an individual basis during the 13-week assignment, limited to one per contract
