Senior Tax Associate

Location: Winston-Salem, NC (Full-Time)

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 (Based on experience and CPA status)

Who We Are

Since our founding in 1999, we have remained dedicated to providing individuals and small businesses in the Winston-Salem area with professional, personalized financial guidance. We aren't just looking at the numbers-we are looking for Clarity, Confidence, and Clarity. Our firm is built on three core pillars:

  • -- Integrity in Every Detail:-- We uphold the highest standards of accuracy.

  • Relationships First: We listen closely and aim to be trusted advisors, not just tax preparers.

  • Proactive Guidance: We don't just look back at the prior year; we help our clients navigate the future.

With a leadership team boasting backgrounds in Big 4 and large regional firms, we offer the technical sophistication of a major practice with the hands-on, boutique feel of a local firm.

The Role: Senior Tax Associate

We are looking for a technically talented professional to join our "Tax Track" leadership pipeline. As a Senior Associate, you will be the engine of our tax department, overseeing the preparation and review of complex returns while serving as a primary point of contact for our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and review of complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, including multi-state reporting and entity-specific tax rules.

  • High-Level Strategy: Conduct proactive tax planning and identify opportunities for tax minimization and wealth preservation.

  • Specialized Engagements: Gain exposure to niche areas including Trusts, Gifts, and Estates, as well as complex partnership issues like IRC Section 754 basis step-ups.

  • Client Advocacy: Manage government notices and represent client interests before tax authorities.

  • Leadership: Direct and mentor staff and associates, ensuring technical excellence and efficient project management across the firm.

What You'll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's in Taxation or Accounting preferred).

  • Credentials: Active CPA license is required (or significant progress toward licensure for the right candidate).

  • Experience: 3-6 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.

  • Industry Knowledge: Exposure to construction, manufacturing, healthcare, or professional services is a major plus.

  • The "Advisor" Mindset: You are a proactive communicator who enjoys building long-term relationships and solving problems before they arise.

Why Join Our Team?

  • Stability & Growth: Many of our clients and staff have been with us for decades. We offer a stable, respectful environment where your career can flourish.

  • Sophisticated Client Base: Work on complex high-wealth individual tax situations and hedge fund reporting without the "Big Firm" burnout.

  • Community Roots: We are deeply invested in the Winston-Salem community and value the personal lives and church/non-profit involvements of our team members.

  • Modern Professionalism: We leverage cutting-edge technology and research tools to ensure our team can provide the highest level of proactive guidance.

Ready to bring clarity to complex tax situations? We'd love to speak with you.
