Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This contract-to-permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working directly with patients. The role involves assisting in eye care procedures, maintaining efficient patient flow, and supporting the team in delivering exceptional care.

Responsibilities:
• Guide patients from the reception area to the examination room and conduct initial pre-testing, including measuring eye pressure and assessing visual acuity.
• Collect accurate medical and ocular histories to ensure thorough documentation.
• Perform refraction tests to determine eyeglass prescriptions, with training available if needed.
• Conduct preliminary eye examinations before the doctor sees the patient.
• Administer eye drops and explain procedures to patients as required.
• Assist the physician during minor office procedures and treatments.
• Perform specialized ophthalmic testing as prescribed by the doctor.
• Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Manage inventory by ordering supplies and tracking usage.
• Promote a smooth workflow by ensuring efficient patient transitions and supporting team collaboration.• Previous experience in ophthalmic care is preferred, but willingness to learn is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues in a detail-oriented and friendly manner.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and dedication to maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with eye anatomy, refractive errors, and common ocular conditions is an advantage.
• Capacity to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced clinical setting.
