Department Communications - Institutional Relations

FLSA Status Salary Exempt


JOB PURPOSE


To work with the Director of Marketing and Content Strategy to develop, execute, and monitor the editorial strategies of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Spurgeon College; and provide editorial assistance at For the Church.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


· Act as the primary editor and proofreader of all internal and external content published by the seminary and college

· Prepare, publish, and promote press release items

· Assist with developing and writing advertising, promotional, and email copy

· Coordinate the bi-annual publication of the Midwestern Magazine (Associate Editor)

· Assist with editing, scheduling, and posting articles at For the Church (Associate Editor)

· Collaborate with the content team in creating new campaigns, marketing strategies, and promotional endeavors

· Manage relationships with media outlets in conjunction with Cabinet and other Administrative Offices

· Assist with writing institutional newsletter and other institutional email communication

· Assist with compiling data for weekly and monthly Communications Data Reports.

· Generate and execute editorial initiatives to increase reach and exposure

· Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record

WORKING CONDITIONS


· Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm

· Willingness to cover on-campus events for press release and marketing purposes.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


· Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at desk or computer station

· Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

· Able lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
