K-8 In-Person Reading Tutor



About the Role:

As a K8 In-Person Reading Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, youll deliver individualized and small-group reading instruction to early elementary students in a school setting using our structured, research-based intervention programs. Youll provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrusts curriculum and materials, helping young learners build foundational literacy skills and confidence.

Job Type: Independent Contractor

What You Will Do:

  • Provide in-person, small-group or 1:1 reading tutoring to K-8 students during the school day or after school
  • Implement Braintrusts reading intervention programs with fidelity, using provided lesson plans and materials
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on ongoing performance and feedback
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, engagement, and academic growth
  • Collaborate closely with Braintrusts Operations team and school staff to align tutoring with student learning goals
    Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes focus and confidence
  • Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence
  • Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools to guide instructional decisions

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelors degree in Education or a related field
  • Access to a reliable laptop computer
  • Active or expired teaching license
  • Familiarity with foundational reading instruction, including phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency, with a focus on decoding single and multisyllabic words using a structured scope and sequence
  • Experience working with early elementary students preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Comfort working within school environments and collaborating with school personnel
  • Reliable, professional, and punctual presence for all scheduled sessions
  • Passion for early literacy and educational equity
