Job Summary
The Bartender is responsible for coordinating and running the bar while upholding high service and quality standards. Bartenders will also maintain supplies as well as the cleanliness and organization of the work and service areas (aka., Barback). Bartenders must embody The Punk Rock Museum brand in demeanor, personality, and appearance. They must maintain a positive image of the brand and musicians at all times. The Bartender is a host for the Museums guests and as such must be focused on delighting customers and maintaining a safe and efficient environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
The consistent responsibilities of the Bartender include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide an exceptional customer experience when providing drinks and food to guests. Deliver genuine, extraordinary service to the Museums dining guests.

Prepare drinks for guests and servers in a timely and accurate manner.

Display a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all bar items, all food menu items, and any promotions. Provide information to guests and servers.

Promote and recommend bar and menu items to guests with enthusiasm and knowledge of menu offerings, the extensive drink menu, and promotions.

Perform an opening and closing inventory of spirits.

Perform cash handling duties.
Maintain bar area supplies keeping the bar stocked and clean (barback duties). Clean, inventory, organize, and replenish bar items and supplies.

Receive bar shipments verifying the correct types and quantities and providing a signature or other confirmation of correct delivery. Manage the audio and visual equipment in the bar.

Engage Security and/or management to address significant concerns with guest behavior while exercising respect, discretion, and genuine concern for all parties involved.
Employ a knowledge of common safety and security hazards and applicable precautions to establish a safe and secure environment.
Ensure guests, team members, and any other individuals or groups on site comply with Company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). Model safe work practices for others.


Required Education and Experience
At least 21 years of age.

At least one year of bar or restaurant experience.
At least one year of customer service experience.
Bartending personnel must attain and retain on their person at all times a Non-Gaming Sheriffs Card and an Alcohol Awareness Training Card (commonly known as a TAM Card).
Bartending personnel must also attain and retain on their person at all times a Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) Health Card.


Preferred Education and Experience
At least three years of bar or restaurant experience.
At least three years of customer service experience.
Extensive knowledge of Punk Rock music and culture.

Must have ability to be reliable and punctual and demonstrate great time management skills.
Must have ability to work under pressure while maintaining physical stamina and a proper mental attitude.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Work Environment/Physical Demands

This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, and enclosed spaces.
This position must access all areas of the work area and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying.
This position must move in different directions and positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
May require bending and reaching in areas from floor level to six feet high.
The position may remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
The position requires repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
The position must position or move objects up to 20 pounds.
Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols as well as utilize effective eye/hand coordination.
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high-sensory, and high-energy environment.


Additional Requirements
This is a full-time position which requires a flexible schedule which includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, holidays, and music festivals. Overtime may be required as business needs dictate.
