Job Title: Fabric Spreader / Sample Cutter (Fabric)
Pay Rate: $17.87 per hour
Location: Vernon
We're looking for reliable, detail-focused individuals to join a production team in Vernon as a Fabric Spreader and Sample Cutter. These positions play an important role in keeping the production process accurate, efficient, and on schedule. If you have experience working with fabric, cutting, and handling garments in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Position 1: Fabric Spreader
The Fabric Spreader is responsible for laying out fabric accurately and efficiently on cutting tables in preparation for bulk cutting. This role plays a critical part in garment quality and overall production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Spread fabric in multiple layers according to production requirements and marker plans
Ensure correct alignment of grain lines, patterns, and fabric direction
Inspect fabric for defects before and during spreading
Maintain even tension and eliminate wrinkles or distortions
Measure and prepare fabric according to required lengths
Follow safety and quality control procedures
Work closely with the cutting and production teams to meet deadlines
Qualifications:
Previous experience in fabric spreading preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to stand for extended periods and handle rolls of fabric
Basic understanding of garment production processes
Position 2: Sample Cutter (Fabric)
The Sample Cutter is responsible for cutting fabric pieces for prototype and sample garments prior to mass production. This role requires precision, technical skill, and close collaboration with designers and pattern makers.
Key Responsibilities:
Cut fabric pieces based on approved patterns and sample markers
Follow measurements and specifications with high accuracy
Prepare prototype garments for client or internal approval
Work closely with designers, pattern makers, and production teams
Maintain cutting tools and ensure a clean, organized workspace
Identify and report any pattern or fabric issues
Qualifications:
Experience in fabric cutting or sample room work preferred
Strong knowledge of patterns and garment construction
High level of precision and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
