Little Star PPEC is dedicated in providing excellent pediatric therapy services to children with complex care needs in both clinical and community-based settings. Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality pediatric therapy services to children with a variety of developmental and physical needs.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, values teamwork, and is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of families within our community.
Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients
- Provide direct patient care while ensuring safety, comfort, and engagement during therapy sessions
- Support children in improving mobility, strength, coordination, balance, and functional independence
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, mobility strategies, and home programs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive patient care
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, patient confidentiality, and ethical care
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Pediatric experience preferred, but not required
- Strong understanding of pediatric physical therapy techniques and therapeutic interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with children and families
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
- Home health or community-based therapy experience is a plus
