Job Title: Registered Nurse (Behavioral / Mental Health)
Location: St. Louis, MO
Contract Duration: 6+ Months (Renewable)
Work Schedule:

Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Compensation:

Weekly Gross Pay: $2,406 (Travel Rate)
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Behavioral Health / Mental Health setting. The RN will play a critical role in patient safety, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary mental health team.
Key Responsibilities

Assess patients’ mental status and safety, including risk for suicide, self-harm, and violence

Administer and monitor psychiatric medications in accordance with physician orders and protocols

Maintain patient and unit safety through effective de-escalation techniques

Provide therapeutic communication, emotional support, and patient education
-
Respond to and manage behavioral crises and psychiatric emergencies
-
Accurately document patient condition, care provided, and clinical observations
-
Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and nursing staff

Follow facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications & Skills
-
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific requirements apply)

Experience in Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Nursing preferred

Strong assessment, communication, and crisis management skills

Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations
-
Commitment to patient-centered, trauma-informed care
