Job Description

The Opportunity: Lead Our Entire Production Operation.

STER Group is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our production operation in Snellville, GA. This is a leadership role for a hands-on manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at managing diverse manufacturing processes.

You will be responsible for the daily operational leadership of Injection Molding, Upholstery, and our new Metal Fabrication division. While you will coordinate the operational launch of the Metal Fab line (with strong support from our global engineering teams), your primary focus is managing the people, processes, materials, and administrative functions for all production.

We need a leader with strong "engineering thinking" and proven people management skills, ready to collaborate closely with our other plants and European teams.

  • Location: Snellville, Gwinnett County, GA, USA
  • Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities (Multi-Division Operational Leadership):

  1. Multi-Division Management:
    • Direct and manage all production activities across Injection Molding, Upholstery, and Metal Fabrication.
    • Own production scheduling and shift planning to meet daily output, cost, and quality targets.
  2. Sourcing & Administrative Management:
    • Lead sourcing and procurement for all production materials (metals, plastics, textiles, consumables), including inventory control, stock level monitoring, and purchase order analysis to ensure optimal supply chain efficiency.
    • Manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and supply stability.
    • Involvement with all administration matter correlated with daily operation.
  3. Team Leadership:
    • Build and lead the entire production team, including all recruiting, hiring, and training for new and existing staff.
    • Mentor and develop your department leads.
  4. Metal Fab Launch Coordination:
    • Serve as the operational project lead for the launch of the new Metal Fabrication line, ensuring successful implementation of processes developed with our global team.
  5. Quality Control:
    • Oversee and implement quality control processes across all divisions to ensure compliance with production standards, minimize defects, and maintain consistent product excellence.

Required Qualifications (The Versatile Leader):

  • 5+ years in a Production or Operations Management role.
  • MUST HAVE: Proven experience managing diverse manufacturing processes (e.g., assembly/molding and fabrication; not just one specialty).
  • MUST HAVE: Strong experience in production scheduling and people management (recruiting, team building).
  • MUST HAVE: Demonstrated experience in raw material sourcing and supply chain management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • "Engineering Mindset": A technical background (Engineering degree preferred) with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production documentation.
  • Bonus: Hands-on knowledge of metal fabrication (laser/press brake) and SolidWorks, along with a basic understanding of electrical systems, automation, or robotics, is a significant asset.
  • Additional Plus: OSHA certification or knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Additional Plus: Forklift operation skills and a valid forklift operator certification.
