Job Description

The Senior Director of Finance and Accounting reports to the CEO and will help grow the company by leading the finance and accounting team with daily, monthly, and annual financial requirements and compliance, in addition to leading various projects to help improve the existing processes and procedures. Responsibilities include managing the annual audit, reviewing and preparing account reconciliations, researching technical accounting issues, and improving general accounting activities. This position will also be responsible for maintain great relationships with our field teams, collaborating with home office personnel, and representing the company with 3rd party vendors and contractors.

Accounting Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and ensuring timeliness of month-end close process including balance sheet review, as well as performing variance analysis and sharing results to senior leadership
  • Evaluating current processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and longevity in a high-growth environment
  • Ensuring internal and audited financial statements comply with GAAP
  • Reviewing and maintain reasonable internal controls
  • Collaborating with external auditors and ownership of the year-end audit
  • Performing purchase accounting and supporting due diligence for any acquisitions
  • Lead implementation of upgraded accounting system
  • Managing and assisting in day-to-day accounting transactions, including preparation and posting of journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Ensuring the timely completion of the company's tax filings with external preparer as well as preparation of the annual income tax provision
  • Manage the treasury function including cash forecasting, and relationships with banking partners
  • Support CEO in preparation of annual budget and monthly updates
  • Coaches, develops, leads, inspires and motivates direct reports and manages the workflow of the Accounting team.

Experience

  • CPA License required
  • 10+ years of related experience in progressively responsible accounting roles, including a combination of public and industry-specific
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including leading a team of multi-discipline direct reports
  • Extensive understanding of GAAP, including issues relevant to the service industry, along with experience/proficiency in researching technical accounting issues.
  • Bachelor's degree required in finance or accounting
  • Advanced degree is strongly preferred
  • Previous merger and acquisition experience is strongly preferred
  • Previous private equity experience is strongly preferred
