Vice President of Clinical Operations

Compensation: $240K$310K per year

Job Type: Full-Time, MondayFriday, On-Site

A leading healthcare system is seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Clinical Operations to oversee and elevate clinical services across multiple inpatient and outpatient settings. This executive-level role is responsible for driving clinical performance, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive leadership and direction for clinical operations across hospitals, outpatient centers, and affiliated service lines
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols, quality initiatives, and performance benchmarks to ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based care
  • Partner with executive and medical leadership to align clinical operations with organizational goals and patient-centered care models
  • Lead, mentor, and support clinical directors, nurse managers, and interdisciplinary teams to foster high-performing departments
  • Oversee regulatory and accreditation compliance (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS), including preparation for audits and corrective actions
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with finance, IT, and HR departments on workforce planning, clinical technology integration, and budget optimization
  • Ensure clinical operations maintain compliance with federal and state healthcare laws and internal policies

Requirements:

  • Active clinical license (RN, NP, PA, or equivalent); advanced degree strongly preferred (MSN, DNP, MHA, MBA, etc.)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in clinical operations within a hospital or integrated health system
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, clinical workflows, and performance metrics
  • Demonstrated success managing large clinical teams and executing quality and safety initiatives
  • Ability to lead through influence, build consensus, and drive organizational change
  • Prior experience in a matrixed health system or large, multi-site provider organization highly desirable
