Job Description

The Kitting Specialist works in a warehouse environment to accurately pick, assemble, and prepare parts and materials for orders. This role uses RF scanners, inventory systems, and material handling equipment to ensure that all components are correctly kitted, labeled, and ready for production or shipment. The position involves general warehouse duties, including order picking, parts pulling, and basic data entry in Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Pick parts and materials accurately from warehouse locations using RF scanners and order picking processes.
  • Assemble kits by grouping and organizing components according to work orders, bills of materials, or customer requirements.
  • Verify that all parts in each kit are correct in type, quantity, and condition before releasing them for production or shipment.
  • Pull parts and materials from inventory locations and deliver them to designated staging or kitting areas.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as cherry pickers and other order picking tools, to reach and move products safely.
  • Perform basic inventory tasks, including counting, labeling, and updating stock locations to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Use Excel to enter, update, and track inventory data, kit contents, and order status as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following warehouse housekeeping and safety procedures.
  • Assist with general labor tasks in the warehouse, including loading, unloading, and moving materials as required.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity, accuracy, and quality targets.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, damaged materials, or inventory issues to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment performing tasks such as picking, kitting, inventory, and material handling.
  • Ability to use RF scanners to pick, track, and verify inventory and orders.
  • Proficiency in order picking and parts pulling with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfort operating or learning to operate material handling equipment, including cherry pickers.
  • Basic Excel skills to input, update, and review inventory and order-related information.
  • Ability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, moving, and organizing materials.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple kits, orders, and inventory tasks at once.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including work orders and inventory procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with inventory control processes and warehouse management practices.
  • Experience working with bills of materials or production orders in a kitting or assembly environment.
  • Comfort working with technology, including handheld scanners and basic computer applications.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and support smooth warehouse operations.
  • Reliability and punctuality to support consistent workflow and order fulfillment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richardson, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
