Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for Mohs surgical procedures by obtaining thorough medical histories and assessing vital signs.
• Assist surgeons in the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are organized and sterile.
• Provide detailed post-operative instructions and support to patients, addressing any concerns they may have.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile surgical environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Handle various administrative duties, including scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate patient records.
• Educate patients about the Mohs surgical process and assist them in understanding their treatment plans.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Experience as a medical assistant, particularly in a surgical or dermatological setting, is essential.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques, with an emphasis on aseptic protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
• Ability to multitask and maintain a high standard of care in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and familiar with medical office software.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to professional ethical standards.
