Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an LDRP position at a Level III trauma facility in Kansas, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience, couplet care skills, and the ability to float across L&D, postpartum, and mother-baby units on night shifts.

  • Acute care hospital setting with a dedicated LDRP unit featuring 12 LDRP rooms, 1 OR suite for C-sections, and 1 triage bed
  • \n

  • Unit averages approximately 1.5 births per day (50–60 per month)
  • \n

  • Patient population includes labor and delivery, postpartum, and mother-baby/couplet care
  • \n

  • RNs are required to titrate Pitocin drips
  • \n

  • Fetal monitoring is required; GE and OBIX systems are used for EFM
  • \n

  • Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
  • \n

  • 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend required
  • \n

  • Floating required between L&D, postpartum, and mother-baby/nursery units, as well as to other units as needed
  • \n

  • On-call may be required per policy, though anticipated no more than 3 times per contract period
  • \n

  • No holiday requirements
  • \n

  • 1–2 shift unit/department-specific orientation
  • \n

Requirements\n

    \n
  • Active KS RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
  • \n

  • Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
  • \n

  • LDRP experience including couplet care and ability to circulate in the OR for C-sections
  • \n

  • Required certifications (all must be active, no pending certifications accepted): BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
  • \n

  • Ability to titrate IV drips, including Pitocin
  • \n

  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n

  • A valid driver's license is required for consideration
  • \n

  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • \n

Additional Information\n

  • Candidates must permanently reside at least 60 miles from the facility; a driver's license is used to verify permanent address
  • \n

  • Candidates must be present in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
  • \n

  • Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
  • \n

  • The unit charge nurse typically carries a patient assignment
  • \n

  • The unit is staffed with 1 surgical tech; OB/neonatologist and anesthesia are not in-house 24/7
  • \n

  • AWHONN guidelines are followed for staffing ratios
  • \n

  • Professional scrub colors are required (any professional color)
  • \n

  • Scheduling is flexible — shifts can be grouped or separated based on preference after filling open slots
  • \n
