Description\n
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an LDRP position at a Level III trauma facility in Kansas, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience, couplet care skills, and the ability to float across L&D, postpartum, and mother-baby units on night shifts.

- Acute care hospital setting with a dedicated LDRP unit featuring 12 LDRP rooms, 1 OR suite for C-sections, and 1 triage bed
- Unit averages approximately 1.5 births per day (50–60 per month)
- Patient population includes labor and delivery, postpartum, and mother-baby/couplet care
- RNs are required to titrate Pitocin drips
- Fetal monitoring is required; GE and OBIX systems are used for EFM
- Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
- 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend required
- Floating required between L&D, postpartum, and mother-baby/nursery units, as well as to other units as needed
- On-call may be required per policy, though anticipated no more than 3 times per contract period
- No holiday requirements
- 1–2 shift unit/department-specific orientation

Requirements\n

- Active KS RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
- LDRP experience including couplet care and ability to circulate in the OR for C-sections
- Required certifications (all must be active, no pending certifications accepted): BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Ability to titrate IV drips, including Pitocin
- Epic EMR experience required
- A valid driver's license is required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

- Candidates must permanently reside at least 60 miles from the facility; a driver's license is used to verify permanent address
- Candidates must be present in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
- Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- The unit charge nurse typically carries a patient assignment
- The unit is staffed with 1 surgical tech; OB/neonatologist and anesthesia are not in-house 24/7
- AWHONN guidelines are followed for staffing ratios
- Professional scrub colors are required (any professional color)
- Scheduling is flexible — shifts can be grouped or separated based on preference after filling open slots
