Structural Welder – $28–$33/hr | Contract-to-Hire
| 4-Day Workweek | 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Join a growing fabrication team where your welding skills help build steel bridges that make a lasting impact. We’re hiring a Structural Welder to perform flux core MIG welding on components up to 1/2" thick. This hands-on role offers room to grow into a lead position and includes cross-training on a variety of fabrication equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform flux core MIG welding on structural steel bridge components
- Read and interpret blueprints to complete full layouts and fabrication
- Operate overhead and jib cranes to move materials safely
- Use band saws, drill presses, stud welders, and grinders for fabrication tasks
- Weld in various positions, including crawling under materials when needed
- Maintain flexibility and mobility throughout the shop
- Potential to step into a lead welder role based on experience and performance
Qualifications
- Strong experience in structural welding
- Proficiency in MIG, flux core, and wire feed welding techniques
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks (kneeling, stooping, crawling)
- Experience reading blueprints and weld symbols
- Ability to pass 3F and 4F weld tests within the first few days, and a 3G test within the first month
- Previous lead experience is a plus
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic shop environment

Work Environment
- Small structural fabrication shop
- Shop can be messy and is not air-conditioned
- 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
