Job Description
The Forklift Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is critical in maintaining an organized, smooth, and safe warehouse operation, contributing to the overall success of the organization. Candidates have a two-hour lead time on all materials needed for the production floor and must meet high production goals each hour.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently with a focus on stand-up electric-powered forklifts.
- Spend 50% of the day in forklift operation and the remaining 6 hours walking, cleaning, and handling materials manually.
- Utilize a warehouse management system and RF scanners for distribution tasks.
- Maintain quality standards and perform quality checks.
- Engage in repetitive tasks like packing and must be able to lift 40 lbs unassisted.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and production metrics.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in storage processes and support to production areas.
- Minimum 3 years of forklift experience with stand-up forklift experience preferred.
- Forklift certifications verified through references.
- Experience in order selection, quality control, inventory, and using RF scanners.
- Proficiency in packaging, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with warehouse inventory, order entry, and warehouse shipping.
- Ability to balance multiple processes simultaneously.
- No employment gaps of 1-2 years preferred.
- Experience in a distribution environment using RF scanners.

Work Environment
The facility is a very clean, state-of-the-art warehouse and training center located in Colonial Heights. It features a climate-controlled environment with small aisles requiring careful navigation. Lockers are available for personal items, and a canteen with food and drink machines is on-site. The facility prioritizes safety and includes a locker room where cell phones must be stored away from the production floor. Contract associates must adhere to a 90-day minimum contract period, with the potential for permanent placement based on performance and attendance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.74 - $21.74/hr.
