Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT), and 1+ year of Cath Lab experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an experienced Cath Lab Technician with a strong background in cardiac imaging and interventional procedures, based in Tampa, FL. This role offers a contract position with an established Level II Trauma, Short Term Acute Care hospital providing comprehensive cardiac care. Candidates must have preceptor experience and a willingness to train newer Cath Lab Technicians.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in cath lab technology; no first-timers accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficient in stimming, scrubbing, monitoring, circulating, and EKG recording
- Hands-on experience with balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, Rotablader, and left/right heart catheterizations
- Skilled in arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardiac ablation and mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, and electrophysiology evaluations
- Competent in insertion/programming of AICDs, pacemakers, LAA closure, watchman devices, and tilt table studies
- Experience with Afib ablations (RF and Cryo) is essential
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination required, with exemptions accepted for medical or religious reasons
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assist in a high volume of daily cardiac catheterization cases (7-20 per day)
- Serve as a preceptor to new cath lab technicians, fostering skill development and safety
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records through electronic medical systems
- Participate as an on-call technician as needed, without float requirements
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote excellent patient care standards
Schedule:
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (06:30 AM5:00 PM)
- On-call availability required as needed
