Job Description
A globally prominent, reputable and rapidly growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking to hire a senior-level Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) Manager to oversee material flow and logistics activities for a multi-site region (Southeast USA). Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager for this group, this position will be based out of the Atlanta-area flagship production site and serve on the senior leadership team. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead tactical and strategic direction for MP&L functions ensuring efficient material flow, inventory control, and logistics support across manufacturing sites.
- Hire, mentor, and develop MP&L personnel for multiple locations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods while minimizing waste and storage costs.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and address supply chain disruptions.
- Analyze and improve material handling processes, including transportation, storage, and kitting, to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage and optimize material planning and logistics.
- Partner with production, purchasing, engineering, and quality departments to ensure alignment and support on-time customer delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 8+ years of experience in supply chain, materials management, planning, or logistics within manufacturing settings.
- 4+ years of formalized management experience in MP&L or related functions.
- Extensive familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, QAD, etc.) and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
