Locum Tenens – Full-Time Optometrist
Modesto, California

Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Locum Tenens Optometrist to join a thriving, patient-focused practice in Modesto, CA. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern facility with a supportive clinical team, providing high-quality vision care to a diverse patient base.

Assignment Details

• Location: Modesto, California

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no weekends)

• Duration: Ongoing locum coverage 3+ months with potential for extension

• Setting: Outpatient clinic – comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and ocular disease management

• Patient Volume: 15–20 patients per day

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments

• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases (glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc.)

• Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses

• Provide patient education on eye health and preventive care

• Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals as needed

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program

• Active California Optometry License (or ability to obtain)

• Current DEA (if prescribing therapeutic pharmaceutical agents)

• Prior clinical experience preferred; new grads welcome

• Excellent communication and patient care skills
