Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized opportunity exists for a sonographer with expertise in high-risk obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). This contract role demands a professional skilled in advanced ultrasound imaging within a dynamic perinatal clinical setting, serving patients facing complex pregnancies.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience in MFM sonography within a high-risk OB environment.
- ARDMS certification in OB/GYN is required; CLEAR certification preferred.
- Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification highly desirable.
- Proficient in operating GE ultrasound machines and fetal monitoring equipment.
- Solid understanding of fetal and maternal anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Ability to perform detailed fetal anatomy scans, growth assessments, biophysical profiles (BPP), and Doppler studies.
- Experience assisting with ultrasound-guided procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
- Strong communication skills to support patients and families during emotionally challenging situations.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting specialized ultrasound exams to monitor fetal well-being and detect anomalies.
- Collaborating closely with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists.
- Managing day-to-day operations of the sonographic laboratory including documentation and supply coordination.
- Maintaining compliance with professional continuing education and quality standards.
- Providing patient education and emotional support throughout diagnostic procedures.
- Traveling between two nearby medical centers as needed to support clinical operations.
Work hours are weekdays, 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., with a 32-hour guaranteed workweek. Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the job location to be eligible. Scrubs without branding are permitted.
