Job DescriptionDepartment: ElementaryTitle: Enrichment Teacher/PSIA coordinator
Job Summary:The Elementary Enrichment and PSIA Coordinator provides differentiated instruction and enrichment opportunities for students who demonstrate advanced academic ability and intellectual curiosity. This role supports the development of higher-level thinking skills, creativity, and problem-solving through specialized instruction, enrichment programs, and academic competitions.
The Enrichment teacher also serves as the PSIA (Private Schools Interscholastic Association) Coordinator, organizing student participation in academic competitions and supporting teachers and students in preparation for events.
This position supports the mission of the school by nurturing students academically, spiritually, and socially while fostering a love of learning and a spirit of excellence.Lines of Authority:Reports to the Elementary Principal Education:Bachelor’s Degree RequiredRequired Personal Qualities:

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Teaching Certification
  • Profound understanding and commitment to Christian faith and principles.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion and respect for confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Gifted and Talented Certification preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Experience working with advanced learners or enrichment programs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and events.

Program Development

  • Work in conjunction with the admin team to determine qualifications for the enrichment program.
  • Develop and maintain an enrichment program that supports advanced learners across multiple grade levels.
  • Integrate STEAM, problem-solving, logic, and creative thinking opportunities into enrichment instruction.
  • Provide opportunities for project-based learning and inquiry-driven exploration.
  • Maintain resources and materials for enrichment instruction.

PSIA Coordinator

  • Serve as the Elementary PSIA Coordinator.
  • Work with teachers to identify students for academic competitions
  • Coordinate PSIA practice schedules, materials, and preparation
  • Communicate with families regarding competition information
  • Organize logistics for the PSIA district and state meets.
  • Support teachers and parent volunteers serving as PSIA event coaches.
  • Celebrate and recognize student achievements.

Transportation:Reliable transportation. Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move throughout the campus during the school day.
  • Ability to supervise students in classroom and competition settings.
  • Ability to travel to academic competitions when required.

Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Enrichment Program Development:
  • Work in conjunction with the admin team to determine qualifications for the enrichment program.
  • Develop and maintain an enrichment program that supports advanced learners across multiple grade levels.
  • Integrate STEAM, problem-solving, logic, and creative thinking opportunities into enrichment instruction.
  • Provide opportunities for project-based learning and inquiry-driven exploration.
  • Maintain resources and materials for enrichment program.
  • Provide enrichment and extension opportunities for students demonstrating advanced academic ability.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support advanced learners within the general education setting.
  • Integrate Biblical principles into instruction.
  1. Classroom Management:
  • Establish and maintain a positive and supportive classroom conducive to learning and spiritual growth.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies rooted in faith-based principles.
  • Foster a sense of community and belonging among students through collaborative activities and teamwork.
  1. Instruction and Assessment:
  • Identify and/or create progress monitoring tools that will measure student growth resulting from the enrichment program.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic and spiritual growth.
  • Monitor all student plans that are submitted for a pull-out enrichment program.
  • Develop engaging lessons and projects that challenge students academically.
  • Encourage intellectual curiosity and independent learning.
  1. Spiritual Development
  • Model Christ-like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Facilitate opportunities for students to explore and deepen their faith.
  1. Parent Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicate with families regarding enrichment opportunities and PSIA events.
  1. Professional Development:
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Participate and receive GT/enrichment training.
  • Stay updated on current instructional strategies and best practices in education and faith-based pedagogy.
  • Provide explanations and modeling for teachers and staff on how to implement academic enrichment with fidelity.
  • Work in conjunction with staff to work toward improving differentiation within Tier 1 instruction.
  1. Professional Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience and a supportive school community.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required. Serve at extra-curricular events as needed.
  • Attend work regularly and be punctual.
  1. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
