Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $57–$61 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, every other weekend and some holidays required

Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to provide high-acuity care to critically ill pediatric patients in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, independent decision-making abilities, and the capability to deliver specialized care during night shifts with minimal orientation and supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.

  • Perform detailed nursing assessments in a high-acuity PICU environment.

  • Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.

  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments.

  • Collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.

  • Accurately document patient care in electronic medical records.

  • Respond promptly and appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergencies.

  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices.

  • Provide compassionate, family-centered care.

Required Qualifications:

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current and active New York State RN license.

  • BLS certification (current or eligible for recertification).

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience within the past 2 years.

  • Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center required.

  • Travelers considered if experienced in equivalent or higher-level trauma facilities.

  • EPIC Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
