Pay: Based on Experience Up to $30 an hour
Shift: Must be able to work 70 hours/weekWe are seeking experienced Boilermakers in Norfolk, VA for a high-demand project environment. The Boilermaker role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining boilers, pressure vessels, and associated systems. Candidates must be highly skilled in boiler repair, blueprint interpretation, refractory installation, and working safely in confined spaces and high-climb environments.Responsibilities• Test and inspect boiler systems for leaks, defects, and performance issues.
• Repair or replace valves using hand and power tools; operate gas torches safely.
• Clean boilers, furnaces, and pressure vessels using scrapers, brushes, and solvents.
• Inspect tubes, fittings, valves, controls, and auxiliary mechanisms for defects.
• Install manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, and feedwater connections.
• Install refractory brick in fireboxes and industrial furnace applications.
• Use blueprints to determine part locations, dimensions, and installation specifications.
• Wear PPE at all times and comply with all safety requirements, including confined space access.
• Climb ladders and stairs (up to 200 rungs per hour) and walk between job areas throughout shift.
• Work overtime as required to meet production demands.Requirements• (Preferred) 8+ years of boiler, heat exchanger, and valve repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and procedures.
• Fit for respirator use; able to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to obtain DBIDS/TWIC credentials.
• Ability to pass drug screening.
• Must be able to tolerate noise, fumes, dust, and hot/cold outdoor conditions.
• Ability to climb, bend, crouch, and stand on various surfaces including scaffolds and ship structures.
• Bricklaying/refractory experience in industrial environments (cement plants, steel mills, power plants) is a strong plus.Benefits• Medical Benefits
