Overview:

The Quality Inspection person will oversee Electronic Assemblers to ensure a high level of quality across all areas of production. This role is responsible for meeting or exceeding standards regarding safety, process, inspection requirements, documentation, on time delivery and productivity.

· Performs visual inspections of Printed Circuit Boards, PCB Assemblies, Sheet Metal, Wire, Optics, Electronic Components etc. to verify that products adhere to specified standards of workmanship.

· Documents the results of inspections regarding the condition of the product as defined by established procedures.

· Reviews test data to verify that products meet specified requirements.

· Interprets drawings and schematic diagrams to perform inspections.

· Identifies deviations and initiates reports.

· Other duties may be assigned.


Business related contacts:

Has internal contact with manufacturing and engineering personnel for information regarding quality issues. Has contact with purchasing and accounting personnel for information regarding purchase orders and returned parts.


Education and/or equivalence in experience requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years’ related experience and/or training.

· Experience with GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)

  • Must pass certification for IPC-A-610 after hire (if not currently certified.
  • Must be familiar with workmanship standards IPC, MIL Specs, ISO 9001, etc.
  • Must have experience in quality and source inspection of electronic components.
  • Must be able to perform work with a microscope for several hours per day.
  • Experience interpreting engineering specifications (drawings, bills of material, deviations)
  • Experience with dimensional inspection tools (calipers, micrometer)
  • Experience with electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Computer literate with MS Excel experience

Language skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to correspond via computer (email, FTP, etc.) and write technical correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to employees and managers of the company.
