About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager 6 – Food & Nutrition Services to lead daily operations at our facility, in Washington, DC. This senior leadership role oversees all aspects of Food & Nutrition operations, including patient meal services, retail dining, doctors’ lounge, and catering. The ideal candidate will bring a strong focus on nursing collaboration, patient experience, regulatory compliance, and team development while driving operational excellence and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide overall leadership and oversight for Food & Nutrition Services, ensuring high-quality service delivery across patient dining, retail, and catering operations.
· Lead and mentor department managers, supervisors, and staff to promote engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Partner with hospital leadership and nursing teams to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.
· Ensure regulatory and food safety compliance with all applicable standards (including DC-specific requirements).
· Develop and execute operational strategies that meet Sodexo’s standards for quality, safety, and financial goals.
· Monitor and manage departmental budgets, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure alignment with financial targets.
· Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, staff development, and innovation.
· Strengthen client relationships by delivering strategic insights, process improvements, and measurable outcomes.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of management experience in Food & Nutrition leadership within a healthcare environment.
- Proven track record in staff development, engagement, and team performance management.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and food safety standards in the District of Columbia.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to drive patient experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong financial acumen with proven ability to achieve revenue and cost goals.
