Job DescriptionWe are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our manufacturing team in Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky. This long-term contract position provides an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting expertise while contributing to key financial operations. The role is ideal for individuals eager to gain experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable tasks, including invoice entry, vendor communication, and statement reviews.
• Manage accounts receivable duties, such as invoicing, customer inquiries, and collection efforts.
• Assist in setting up item master data and understanding manufacturing cost accounting and variance analysis.
• Participate in both internal and external audit processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Review and refine accounting procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
• Support additional projects and tasks as assigned to meet departmental goals.
• Collaborate with team members to address accounting-related challenges and improve workflows.• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience; 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in basic Excel functions to support accounting tasks.
• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate account reconciliations.
• Excellent communication skills for handling vendor and customer inquiries.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for work-related purposes.
• Ability to adapt and learn new systems or processes as required.
