Position Summary:
The Pharmacist is responsible for the oversight and daily management of the clinic’s 340B pharmacy operations. This includes ensuring full compliance with 340B program requirements, optimizing cost savings, managing inventory, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the clinic’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality care to under served populations.
Key Responsibilities:

Pharmacy Operations
•\tDispense prescribed medications and provide patient counseling in accordance with state and federal laws.
•\tSupervise pharmacy technicians and support staff in daily workflow and operations.
•\tMaintain accurate inventory records and ensure appropriate drug storage and handling.
•\tDevelop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures consistent with clinical best practices and regulatory requirements.
•\tOther duties as a signed
340B Program Oversight
•\tEnsure to work with stakeholders to keep in compliance with all 340B regulations, including patient eligibility, duplicate discount prevention, and proper audit documentation.
•\tServe as the point of contact for HRSA audits and third-party 340B audits.
•\tMonitor contract pharmacy reimbursements on claims by any third-party plan and/or administrators (TPAs).
•\tCollaborate with finance, compliance, and clinical leadership to analyze savings and reinvestment strategies.
Compliance and Reporting
•\tStay current with changes in 340B program rules, CMS guidance, and state laws.
•\tFollow all documentation requirements related to 340B policy, procedures, and program integrity.
Clinical and Patient Engagement
•\tParticipate in medication therapy management (MTM) and disease state management programs.
•\tCollaborate with medical providers to ensure optimal pharmacological care for patients.
•\tProvide culturally competent counseling and education to a diverse patient population.
Qualifications:
Required
•\tDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm)
•\tCurrent, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina
•\tMinimum of 3 years of experience in retail or pharmacy practice, including at least 1 year of 340B program oversight or equivalent
•\tIn-depth knowledge of 340B regulations and compliance best practices
•\tStrong leadership and communication skills
Preferred
•\tExperience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Ryan White Program, or other HRSA-supported setting
•\tCertification in 340B program compliance or completion of Apexus 340B University
•\tExperience with 340B software platforms (e.g., Sentry, Macro Helix, RxStrategies)
•\tVaccine Administration experience and license
Work Environment:
•\tFast-paced, patient-centered clinical environment
•\tMay require occasional travel for audits, training, or site visits with contract pharmacies
•\tRegular interaction with under served, uninsured, and vulnerable populations
