Job Description
We are seeking an Automation / Mechanical Technician to support the assembly, wiring, soldering, and startup of automated machinery and robotic systems used in medical device manufacturing. This role is hands-on and collaborative, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues, support machine validation, and help bring automated equipment from build through production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and mechanically build automated machinery and robotic systems from technical drawings and schematics
- Perform wiring, soldering, and basic electrical integration of automated equipment
- Install and troubleshoot pneumatic components and systems
- Support machine startup, testing, and commissioning activities
- Work closely with engineering teams to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues
- Assist manufacturing teams in debugging equipment and improving machine performance
- Support equipment validation and documentation activities in a regulated medical device environment
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work area
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly of automated or industrial machinery
- Basic electrical knowledge, including wiring and soldering
- Experience with pneumatic systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting robotic systems or automated assembly equipment
- Prior experience in a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with machine validation or production equipment support
Schedule and Rates
- $39.00 p/hour
- 1st shift
Benefits
- Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment. Thirty (30) hours worked per week must be averaged in order to maintain coverage. 401k enrollment is available per the Secure Act guidelines. Earned Sick and Safe time is accrued and can be used per the State of MN guidelines.
