Our HR team provides exceptional employee experience to cultivate an engaged and productive work environment and superior company performance. Our goal in Payroll Operations is to support the employee experience by providing accurate and timely compensation for all employees. We must maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for 17 FEINs across 50 states and their territories, including filing and monthly GL reconciliation. In addition, we must deliver a seamless experience for our employees through the Employee Experience Guiding Principles, including the adoption and promotion of employee self-help tools, automation and constant review of service levels.
As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you are responsible for reconciling all payroll tax reporting, including updating policies and procedures, assisting with internal and external tax audits and performing Workday system testing and projects in accordance with Federal, State, and Local tax regulations. In this role you will partner closely with Corporate Tax, Stock Plan Services, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS and Payroll Staff to provide tax guidance.
What you're good at
• Performing monthly reconciliation of payroll tax reporting and multi-state withholdings; researching balances and making appropriate adjustments in a timely manner.
• Researching tax issues and tax notices.
• Scanning and uploading tax notices in ADP and updating the Tax Notice Tracker.
• Processing outstanding tax notice payments and ADP invoices in a timely fashion.
• Ensuring timely and accurate payroll tax filing in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Supporting HR Service Tickets (Tier 2 questions); reviewing, evaluating and resolving employee requests.
• Assisting with quarterly and year-end reconciliation review and process.
• Processing W-2C and amendment tax filings.
• Supporting audits by answering questions, locating materials and explaining procedures and policies.
• Updating and creating tax processes and procedures.
• Participating in Workday system upgrades and testing.
• Creating employer online access accounts for state withholding and unemployment.
• Assisting with special projects.
• Serving as a backup to other team members
What you'll have
• 4+ years of experience with tax filings and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge and application of State and Federal payroll laws and regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business or closely related field preferred.
• Experience with payroll software and data querying is required.
• Proficiency with MS Office including strong Excel skills (e.g., v-lookups, pivot tables, and mathematical formulas); MS Access is a plus.
• Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen internal and external partnerships and effectively collaborate with others.
