Job Title: Blacksmith
Job Description
Join our team as a Hammer Smith Laborer, working from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday in Red Lion, PA. We are a leading manufacturer of custom, precision-ground industrial blades used across various industries. As a Hammer Smith, your primary responsibility will be assisting the production team, straightening blades, and staying current with all projects, including special projects as required.
Responsibilities
- Flatten and straighten jobs after heat-treatment and grinding.
- Inspect flatness using dial and surface table setup, feeler gauge, straight edge, etc.
- Select appropriate hammers for flattening/straightening jobs made of various material grades.
- Handle blades safely due to their sharp edges and high hardness.
- Assist with laser etching on blanks, fixtures, etc.
- Participate in safety projects as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with company Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
- Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Offer recommendations for enhanced safety measures to the Safety Committee.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 2 years of smithing experience.
- Completed or working towards a high school diploma/GED.
- Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
- Fluent in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well as a team player and independently with limited supervision.
- Responsible and able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in hand and power tools, tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Experience in fabrication, sheet metal work, and schematic interpretation.
- Skills in inventory management, order picking, warehouse inventory, and sit-down forklift operation.
- Familiarity with SAP systems.

Work Environment
Work in a clean, climate-controlled shop with a smaller crew size. Utilize customized CNC grinding and fabrication equipment. Benefit from recent facility expansion and new machinery. The work environment is primarily indoors with a moderate noise level, requiring alertness and safety awareness. Safety training is provided, and reasonable accommodations are available.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $49920.00/yr.
