Step into a rewarding role supporting middle school students as a dedicated paraprofessional. In this full-time contract opportunity, you’ll work 35 hours per week from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch, assisting students aged 12-14 in a special education setting. This assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through June 5, 2026.

You’ll be directly involved in helping 13 students as a 1:1 and small group support, empowering learners to reach their individual goals in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role, ideally with middle school-aged children
  • Comfort working with special education caseloads
  • Ability to communicate clearly and patiently with students, teachers, and staff
  • Adaptable and compassionate demeanor, especially when providing 1:1 support
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; paraprofessional certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct assistance to students, both 1:1 and in small groups, as specified in their educational plans
  • Help implement specialized instruction and behavioral strategies in the classroom
  • Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere conducive to learning
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to monitor progress and adjust supports
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation in accordance with school policies
  • Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and daily routines
