Our client is an insurance company. They seek a temp Senior Accounting Manager- SEC to join their Branchville, NJ office.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, review, and coordinate quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K)
- Delegate work appropriately and supervise the accounting staff
- Oversee daily accounting and reporting activities, including general accounting, property accounting, and expense accounting
- Implement accounting policies and procedures
- Manage account reconciliations
- Prepare financial analyses, reports, and statistics for management
- Direct cost accounting activities
- Review financial statements
- Ensure financial accountability and minimize financial risk for the organization
- Maintain company compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and governmental regulations; assist as needed on SOX 404 documentation and controls
- Streamline accounting operations and establish procedures to improve workflow efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
- 8-10 years of accounting experience
- Experience supervising/managing others
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and SAP, general ledger accounting software packages, and external reporting requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- CPA required
