Job Description: Quality Control Technician

We are seeking a skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting manufactured components and ensuring they meet the required specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of quality assurance processes within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Dimensionally inspect manufactured components through manual inspection, CMM, and assembly.
  • Physically assemble components as needed, following engineering drawings.
  • Wrap manufactured components, tag, and gather all items for final verification.
  • Document all manufactured parts that fail inspection and provide disposition to engineering/project management.
  • Assist the Project Management department with specialty applications.
  • Assist internal and external vendors with the manufacturing of designed components by conducting in-process inspections as needed.
  • Utilize ERP software to receive manufactured parts into stock through work orders, record time, and review work orders.
  • Assist project management with verifying all physical components are allocated for on the picklist.
  • Assist with training of new employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree, Technical Schooling or trade school, or Apprenticeship.
  • 2-3+ years of experience within the Quality Technician Industry.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience running/programming a CMM, particularly with the person/Calypso.
  • Proficient in using calipers, tape measurers, micrometers, volt meter, and oscilloscopes.
  • Mechanically inclined with an understanding of how things work, including QC processes and lean principles.
  • Ability to document Non-conforming reports into Excel (NCR's).
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, or schematics.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement initiatives for inventory management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • ERP Experience, especially in putting items into inventory through a work order.
  • Extensive knowledge of metrology methods and equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
