Job DescriptionAssembler: Freeport, IllinoisOur customer in Freeport, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Assemblers to work full-time on 1st shift. As an Assembler, you will float between the paint and packing areas to assemble, inspect, and package painted components while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards. Responsibilities of the Assembler:
- Pack components to accepted quality standards using various hand tools.
- Hang and remove components from the paint line as directed by the lead.
- Assemble and build products according to BOMs, routers, and work instructions.
- Perform final assembly and quality inspections of painted products.
- Identify proper paint hooks and spacing requirements for various products.
- Stack and prepare painted products for material handling and shipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and product specifications.
- Scan routers into business software and document material usage accurately.
- Package finished products for shipment.
- Perform 5S housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Safely operate hand tools, hand trucks, and related equipment.
- Assist in the fabrication department as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Assembler Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects.
- Ability to read tape measures and interpret technical drawings.
- Basic math skills and ability to document material usage accurately.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to focus on tasks while managing multiple interruptions.
- Willingness to learn paint quality standards, color identification, touch-up, and packaging techniques.
- Adherence to all safety requirements within the work area.
Pay for Assembler: $16.00/hour, plus $0.25/hour increases every 2 months based on attendance and performance. Assembler Benefits:
