Schedule/Hours:
- 7:00am – 7:00pm shifts
- Every other weekend rotation
- No on-call requirement
- 75% of holidays expected (travelers)
- 6-week schedule cycles
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year in pediatric hematology/oncology acute care
- First-time travelers with strong pediatric experience encouraged to apply
- BLS required; PALS preferred
- APHON chemotherapy certification required
- Competence in central line management, chemotherapy administration, pediatric assessment, and critical thinking
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered care to children/adolescents with leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell crisis, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, and behavioral health overlays
- Manage patient ratios of 1:3-4 (Peds Hem/Oncology) and 1:4-5 (Peds Adolescent Medicine)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary support team (CNA, HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT, RT, hospitalists, intensivists)
- Utilize advanced technology: Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing
- Float between pediatric units in Brenner as needed (excluding Peds ED)
- Adhere to strict safety and infection control guidelines
- Participate in professional development and unit-based education
