Position Summary of the Final Inspector Role at Altek Electronics:

The Final Inspector is responsible for inspecting PCB components and assemblies to applicable IPC and/or J-STD workmanship standards, in addition to internal quality standards.

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Final Inspector are described below, other duties may be assigned:

  • Conducts final inspections on sub-assemblies, assemblies and/or components. May be required to conduct in-process inspections in various production areas
  • Ensure that the product conforms to work instructions, applicable IPC or J-STD standards, and internal/customer quality/workmanship standards
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming materials; Must become familiar with NCMR process.
  • Complete daily inspection report denoting the acceptance and/or rejection rate for all items in accordance with the standards defined within job traveler
  • Supports supervisors and/or operators in the resolution of quality problems
  • Actively participates in quality initiatives by participating in problem solving, process improvements and performance measurements.
  • Responsible for understanding & following company, and or manufacturing guidelines/procedures
  • Responsible for product quality as defined by internal and external customers, work instructions, specifications and procedures.
  • Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S


Knowledge and Skills Required to be the Final Inspector at Altek

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to read & understand assembly documentation and all inspection criteria
  • Ability to see small parts (with or without correction), and distinguish color
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to coach/advise team members relative to quality/quality requirements
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Electronic filing of records)

Education and/or Experience

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • J-Std and/or IPC certifications preferred or the ability to obtain such certifications with in an agreed upon time frame.
  • Work experience in the applicable area of manufacturing is preferred

Working Conditions

  • Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds.
  • The ability to work a flexible work schedule is also required
