Associate Analytical Chemist
Shift: 2nd shift only (12:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with 9% differential ($22.89/hr)
Job Description
Join a dynamic team as an Associate Analytical Chemist role primarily involving microbiological assays and requires a focus on hand setting tasks such as pipetting. The position offers a fast-paced and repetitive work environment with a consistent schedule, allowing for the development of skills in robotics instrumentation over time.
Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiological assays using Hamiltons, autoturbs, and pipetting techniques.
- Develop skills in hand setting (pipetting) before transitioning to robotics instrumentation.
- Perform routine assays on water-soluble vitamins, including microassays for Vitamin B using wet chemistry techniques.
- Measure turbidity and analyze results.
- Participate in lab chores and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
- Work with live organisms and follow established methods for assays.
- Engage in manual and hands-on tasks, including using pipettes, dissolutions, autoclave, autoturb, pH measurement, and sample weighing.
- Progress to High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) work within 1-2 years.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related life science field.
- Experience in pipetting and microbiological assays.
- Strong time management skills and a sense of urgency.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Team player with a strong work ethic and reliability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in fast-paced environments such as food service, bartending, or retail is beneficial.
- Education reimbursement up to $5,000 per calendar year for full-time employees after six months of service.
Work Environment
This position is based in a lab setting within a fast-paced environment akin to production work, requiring adherence to client timeframes. The work can become repetitive depending on the assigned group, but offers significant growth potential within the organization. There is also the opportunity for additional work hours, with up to 4 hours of overtime available per week.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.89 - $22.89/hr.
