Degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years Radiology Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging as a skilled Radiology Technologist supporting inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department services in Kenton, OH. This contract role emphasizes safe and effective use of ionizing radiation in diagnostic radiology while offering the opportunity to work with advanced imaging technology, including GE mobile and room systems, as well as C-arm fluoroscopy equipment. Previous operating room or surgery experience is highly valued in this setting.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document accurate patient clinical histories to assist licensed practitioners
- Position and immobilize patients with attention to comfort and safety, applying radiation protection principles to reduce exposure
- Select and operate imaging equipment to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures
- Assist physicians with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography exams, implementing aseptic surgical techniques as needed
- Verify informed consent and complete all required pre- and post-procedure documentation
- Evaluate images for technical quality and document patient dose exposures
- Maintain professional communication with healthcare team members, patients, and family
- Adhere to ALARA principles for radiation safety
Qualifications:
- Certification and registration with ARRT required; state licensure preferred where applicable
- Minimum of 1 year prior experience in hospital inpatient acute care, including radiation safety and patient care
- Experience with ER, inpatient, and outpatient procedures; proficiency with GE mobile/room units and C-arm fluoroscopy mandatory
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire
- Preferred experience with Radiology Information System (RIS), EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR), and PACS
- Ability to work 8-hour evening shifts with flexible scheduling (schedule not fixed), including every third weekend
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 lbs regularly; perform repetitive arm and hand movements
- Exposure to infectious materials and potentially high noise levels
- Must be able to navigate periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads
