We're currently hiring for a part-time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in Will County, IL. This is a meaningful opportunity to support students with hearing needs through direct instruction and consultative services that foster academic growth, self-advocacy, and communication skills.
Position Overview
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher will support students through both push-in and pull-out instruction across multiple school sites. This educator will provide targeted instruction, collaborate with school teams, and participate in the IEP process to ensure students' hearing needs are effectively met. Travel between assigned buildings is required.
Position: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher
Location: Will County, IL
Grade Level: K–12
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 20 hours per week
Compensation: Starting at $45/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction focused on communication development, self-advocacy, and access to curriculum
- Deliver services in both push-in and pull-out settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal development and progress monitoring
- Maintain accurate documentation and support compliance with state and federal special education requirements
- Travel to multiple school sites within the district as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Endorsement in Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
