Schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (flexibility of ±30 minutes)

Position Overview
A growing construction organization in Tukwila is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to support continued expansion and increasing financial complexity. This newly created position will play a critical role in strengthening payroll operations and ensuring full prevailing wage compliance.
The ideal candidate will bring deep construction industry experience, strong knowledge of prevailing wage regulations, and the ability to independently manage payroll processes from start to finish. This role will work closely with the VP of Finance and provide support across payroll, billing, and accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
Prevailing Wage & Payroll (60%)
- Manage all prevailing wage calculations, reporting, filing, and submissions
- Ensure compliance with federal (Davis-Bacon) and state prevailing wage regulations
- Own the prevailing wage process end-to-end, including documentation, review, and submission
- Process payroll for all employees using QuickBooks
- Maintain payroll accuracy and compliance across multiple job sites
Billing & Project Support (25%)
- Prepare and process billing for construction projects
- Verify billing accuracy and collaborate with project managers to gather required documentation
- Maintain accurate job cost and project financial records
- Support invoicing related to contract and prevailing wage requirements
Accounting Support (15%)
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed
- Support month-end close activities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting for leadership
- Provide technical accounting support as needed
Qualifications
Required
- 3-7 years of payroll and/or accounting experience
- Strong experience within the construction industry
- Hands-on prevailing wage experience with full process ownership
- Experience with construction billing
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Ability to confidently answer accounting and compliance-related questions
Compensation & Work Environment
- Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually
- Work Environment: Fully onsite in Tukwila, WA
