Location: San Ramon, CA
Salary Range: $180,000 – $210,000
Work Schedule: Mon – Friday on site

We are actively seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to join a purpose-driven professional association that plays a meaningful role in serving communities across California. In this senior executive role, you will shape and lead the full HR function, championing strategic people initiatives that align with the organization’s long-term mission, operational goals, and membership-focused values.
As VP of HR, you will design and refine HR programs across compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee engagement, while building strong partnerships with the executive team and leaders across the organization. What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Collaborating with the executive team to define long-term organizational goals and building talent strategies that actively support those priorities.
  • Establishing and tracking meaningful HR and talent management metrics to evaluate organizational health, competitiveness, and program effectiveness.
  • Researching, designing, and implementing competitive compensation structures, benefits offerings, performance management frameworks, and employee incentive programs.
  • Providing strong leadership, coaching, and guidance to the HR management team, and serving as a trusted resource for complex employee relations, compensation, and benefits matters.
  • Ensuring consistent compliance with federal, state, and local requirements related to employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and leave programs.
  • Staying current on employment law, HR best practices, and evolving trends in talent management, and bringing forward thoughtful recommendations for improvement.
  • Developing and managing the HR and staffing budgets, aligning resources to organizational needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Participating in professional networks, conferences, and industry events to broaden organizational visibility and stay informed on emerging HR practices.
  • Overseeing participation in Equal Employment Opportunity, ADA, FMLA, and other regulatory programs to minimize risk and reduce exposure to litigation.
  • Setting short- and long-term HR goals and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve them effectively.

To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Bring:

  • Extensive senior-level HR leadership experience, including responsibility for strategy, policy, compliance, and people programs in a complex environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of using data, metrics, and sound judgment to drive decisions and evaluate outcomes.
  • Proven people leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, develop, and direct an HR management team and influence senior leaders.
  • Deep knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations and demonstrated experience managing compliance across multiple programs and locations.
  • Hands-on experience working with a variety of HRIS and related systems, plus the ability to assess and improve HR technology and workflows.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, occasionally working additional hours to meet critical timelines and organizational needs.
