Build the People Infrastructure of a Growing Enterprise

The Kent Companies is hiring a strategic, hands-on HR leader to help scale and modernize people operations across a fast-growing, multi-business organization.

Headquartered in Midland, TX, The Kent Companies operates 135+ convenience stores and a diversified portfolio spanning fuel distribution, automotive services, restaurants, urgent care clinics, hospitality development, and more — across nine states.

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on building scalable HR systems, strengthening people processes, and partnering directly with executive leadership during a critical growth stage.

What You’ll Do

  • Executive HR Leadership
    • Strategic partner to CEO and executive team
    • Align workforce strategy with business growth
  • Build Structure & Systems
    • Establish performance review frameworks
    • Formalize bonus and incentive programs
    • Improve org structure, reporting clarity, and workforce planning
    • Bring consistency and discipline to HR operations
  • Talent & Recruiting Strategy
    • Strengthen recruiting processes beyond frontline hiring
    • Support leadership and specialized talent acquisition
    • Partner with internal recruiting team
  • Training & Development
    • Modernize onboarding and employee training
    • Build scalable, role-relevant learning programs
  • Compensation & HR Operations
    • Develop competitive compensation structures
    • Improve HR systems, reporting, and workforce analytics
    • Support payroll and HR technology modernization

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years progressive HR leadership experience
  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-entity organizations
  • Proven builder of HR systems and processes
  • Strong business partnership and executive presence
  • Comfortable in entrepreneurial, fast-moving environments

Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Certifications: SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $160,000 – $180,000
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity
  • Relocation assistance available
