Location: New Bern, NC (On-site only)
Salary: Up to $200,000 annually

We’re a respected, 75-year-old family-owned trucking company shipping Liquid, Dry Bulk, Chemicals, Solvents, Plastics, and Aggregates. Operating 14 terminals across NC, SC, GA, AL, TN, TX, FL, and IL, we pride ourselves on a debt-free balance sheet and a commitment to operational excellence.
As CFO, you will lead all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while crafting strategies that align with our company’s goals and evolving industry trends. Partnering closely with operations, you will optimize fleet utilization, control costs, and oversee cash flow and capital expenditures. You will also manage relationships with banks, auditors, and financial institutions, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and industry standards. Your financial insights will guide strategic decisions, mergers & acquisitions, and growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions.
Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
Oversee cash flow management, capital expenditures, and cost control.
Collaborate with operations to improve fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, and maintenance costs.
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and financial institutions.
Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to industry standards.
Provide financial guidance for strategic planning, M&A activity, and growth.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven CFO or senior financial executive experience in the trucking industry only (logistics background not accepted).
Deep understanding of fleet operations, DOT compliance, and trucking-specific cost structures.
CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Experience with ERP systems and Transportation Management Software (TMS) is a plus.
