Position Overview and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional, patient-focused care that aligns with departmental needs and adheres to the standards of practice relevant to their specialty and state regulations. Working closely with medical professionals and other care team members, the RN provides personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care by employing established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes, thereby contributing to overall departmental success.

  • Regularly evaluates patient pain to ensure effective pain management, including follow-up assessments after interventions.
  • Executes procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring timely and thorough documentation of care in patient medical records.
  • Delivers outstanding care by promptly addressing patient requests and proactively anticipating their needs.
  • Educates patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up care, simplifying complex medical terminology for better understanding.
  • Instructs patients, families, and caregivers on non-pharmacological follow-up measures, such as healthy eating, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications, preparing them for future self-management.

Required Qualifications: 3p-3a

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • Associate Degree is necessary.
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses or Trauma Nursing Core Course certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment.
