Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers a unique opportunity to deliver direct instruction to PreK–12 learners, fostering growth across academic, communication, and social domains for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid North Carolina Professional Educator License in Deaf and Hard of Hearing or eligibility for licensure through reciprocity
  • Prior school-based experience preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise working with PreK–12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Willingness and ability to provide on-site services exclusively

Role Overview:

  • Deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student's IEP goals
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success
  • Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and maintain comprehensive documentation to meet all district, state, and federal compliance standards
  • Utilize ECATS and Infinite Campus systems for data recording and communication
  • Foster academic achievement and facilitate essential life skills within the school setting, ensuring students access the curriculum fully

Assignment Details:

  • On-site only, part-time schedule (29 hours per week)
  • School calendar: August 17, 2026 – June 4, 2027
  • Caseload spans students from PreK through 12th grade
