Job Overview:
We are seeking Mechanical Engineer to join our team and help drive process innovation and efficiency across our operations. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and systems, while also supporting automation and robotics initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with production staff, maintenance, and cross-functional teams to solve problems, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
Essential Functions:
- Fixed Asset Planning - ensure optimum decisions are made/implemented regarding plant assets
- Project Management - monitor investments, ensuring justification, request, design,
- implementation, start-up, and sustainability
- Industrial Services - ensure that Production utility needs are fulfilled and optimized
- Asset Reliability - coordinate improvement activities with Maintenance to drive towards a World Class Operation
- Technical Assistance - provide guidance on resolution of processing and packaging , CNC , welding, and robotic equipment problems. This will often require hands-on work.
- Process & Packaging Optimization - optimize manufacturing and supporting processes using LEAN manufacturing tools (PDCA, mistake proofing, root cause analysis, etc.).
- Design fixtures for CNC machines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in goods manufacturing automated work environments
- Proven leadership abilities to lead contractors and to influence plant leadership team
- Experienced in development, execution and start-up of engineering projects big budget required.
- Hands on troubleshooting experience required
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge and experience in implementing standard work, mistake-proofing, TPM and zero loss culture strongly preferred
- Effective communication and team skills required
- Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving required
- Demonstrated abilities to multi-task and handle multiple high priorities simultaneously
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Suite required as well as SolidWorks.
- Must be able to work in high dust and noise area and be able to tolerate high heat and humidity
- Knowledge of ACUMATICA ERP is a plus.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish desired but not required.
