Job Description
As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in meeting business objectives for the department, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness. Your role involves supporting and counseling hourly employees, addressing performance behaviors, and using problem-solving processes to enhance efficiency and layout.
Responsibilities
- Counsel and support hourly employees with their needs and concerns.
- Address and manage performance behaviors, reinforcing positive actions and disciplining negative ones.
- Utilize the Quality Network problem-solving process to address opportunities within the area.
- Implement the Workplace Organization (WPO) process to improve layouts and efficiency.
- Perform daily updates to the Timekeeping System (TKS) for accurate payroll data processing.
- Document problem-solving activities using the A-3 reporting format and adhere to local guidelines.
- Conduct daily meetings to communicate business performance and encourage two-way discussions with employees.
- Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of the department.
- Plan daily workloads in advance and support colleagues to optimize shift performance.
- Enforce shop rules and observe contractual requirements.
- Perform daily SOP audit checks.
- Advance skills through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process.
- Keep the General Supervisor Shop Committee informed of all pending activities.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and perform progressive discipline.
- Experience in UAW or Union leadership, shipping and receiving, warehouse management, and operations.
- Proficiency in Kronos, automotive manufacturing, and parts distribution.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures.

- Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of employees.
- Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain performance under challenges.
- Leadership experience in a Union environment, preferably UAW.

Work Environment
The facility operates on a 3-shift schedule: 1st (7am - 3pm), 2nd (3:30pm - 11:30pm), and 3rd (11pm - 7am), with supervisors required to arrive 30 minutes early for pre-shift meetings. Overtime may occur at the end of shifts, and flexibility for all shifts and weekends is essential. The typical work week includes long hours, with potential work on holidays except Christmas and Easter. The facility is a parts processing center with investments in technology and automation for increased efficiency. The supervision room is open concept with modern equipment. The dress code is business casual with specific footwear requirements, and all necessary PPE will be provided. The facility includes multiple break rooms and adheres to safety protocols.

This is a Contract position based out of Burton, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
