Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a difference in students’ lives by providing essential occupational therapy support as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the 2026-2027 academic year. This on-site, contract role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with an OT team in delivering high-quality, individualized interventions across multiple school sites in the area. You’ll be instrumental in supporting student success, growth, and independence within the school environment—with the chance to make a direct impact every day.
What You’ll Need:
- Valid NM Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Experience working in schools or with pediatric populations highly preferred
- Proficiency in delivering direct services and following OT treatment plans
- Strong communication and reporting skills, including electronic documentation
- Ability to work effectively as an itinerant therapist, traveling between sites as needed
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork, flexibility, and student-centered care
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in individualized plans
- Support and implement OT routines and accommodations within classroom and school settings
- Collaborate with OTs, teachers, and school staff to promote student engagement and function
- Complete timely, detailed reporting and data collection to monitor progress
- Travel between assigned campuses as part of an itinerant team
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and IEP processes
