Job Description

Do you want to use your creativity to inspire community action? Are you excited to connect with donors and partners whose support helps children heal from abuse? If so, Kids FIRST wants to meet you!

About Us

Kids FIRST is an Accredited Children's Advocacy Center and has been serving Lane County since 1994. We bring together a compassionate and highly skilled team-including therapists, medical providers, forensic interviewers, and advocates-all under one roof to support children who have experienced or witnessed abuse.

At Kids FIRST, we are driven by our core values of integrity, continuous learning, and a deep commitment to trauma-informed care. Our collaborative, mission-focused culture has earned us recognition as one of Oregon's 100 Best Nonprofits to Work For year after year.

What You Will Do:

This role, you will support Kids FIRST's development and marketing efforts, helping to strengthen community support and donor engagement while amplifying Kids FIRST's mission. You'll coordinate donor communications and acknowledgments, maintain accurate donor and gift records, and support fundraising efforts through campaigns, appeals, and donor appreciation activities. You'll create engaging content across social media, newsletters, and our website, ensuring our message reaches and resonates with the community. You'll also coordinate logistics for fundraising events, community tabling, and donor gatherings, helping us build meaningful relationships with supporters.

Beyond core development responsibilities, you'll also play a key role in supporting our Training and Prevention team. You'll help plan and promote trainings, coordinate event logistics, and design materials that expand awareness of our prevention programs. You'll serve as an ambassador for Kids FIRST by conducting tours, giving presentations, and cultivating partnerships that strengthen our reach and impact. Through your efforts, you'll use data and feedback to track outcomes, identify opportunities for growth, and contribute to strategies that advance our mission of supporting children and families across Lane County.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a development and marketing professional with strong organizational and communication skills who is eager to put their creativity and attention to detail to use in supporting the mission of our center. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team and blend your background in fundraising, marketing, and community engagement with meaningful work that strengthens support for children and families in Lane County.

At a minimum you have:

  • A bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience can substitute for the degree. Relevant experience could include donor relations, event planning, communications, digital marketing, community outreach, or customer service.

We are most interested in finding the right candidate, and we know that background and experiences can vary. If you feel your skills and experience meet the above and would add value to our organization, we encourage you to apply!

Perks & Benefits

We are proud to support the wellbeing of our staff and their families with a competitive compensation and benefits package:

  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees and families
  • 3% employer-matched retirement plan
  • Mental Health HRA providing financial support for therapy and mental health services
  • FireMed emergency medical transportation membership
  • 12 paid holidays + generous PTO (starting at 15 days/year)
  • Paid Sick Time provided in addition to PTO
  • Summer Fridays and a weekly paid self-care hour
  • Monthly events and wellbeing activities organized by our employee-led Resiliency committee

  • Sabbatical opportunity after 5 years of service
